Archipelago III

I basically improvised screen printing at home for this series. The first one is the original oil painting on a 12 x 16 canvas sheet. Then I took a series of 16 x 20 canvas sheets and imprinted the original on to them three times, each one getting progressively feinter. It was a fun experiment. Also, the photographs aren't very well centred, so they look a bit wonkier than they are in real life.

Islands in the Stream - RIP, Kenny Rogers

Odd that my last two paintings were randomly, Archipelago and Archipelago II, right before Kenny Rogers died. Islands in the Stream was, and remains, one of my favorite songs.

A very wordy review of a perfect album, and yet I still didn't say all I had to say about it, so there may be more to come in here in a while.

Update: there was no more to say. Reviews are exhausting. It turns out that once I turn them in, I'm pretty much done with them and revisiting what I wrote just feels like too daunting a prospect.
