Pedestrian Verse

This week one of my great musical and human inspirations passed away in very tragic circumstances. Scott Hutchison, of the band Frightened Rabbit, and who also releases music under the names of Owl John and Mastersystem, was one of my guiding lights. As someone who has struggled with emotional and mental health problems for a long time, it was comforting and inspiring to know that Scott was in the  world, a very human, compassionate, and complicated champion. When I learned of his disappearance, I was very concerned. When I learned of the tragic outcome of his disappearance, I was destroyed. I paint to exorcise my own demons, and so this evening I spent some time with some of my favourite Frightened Rabbit, Owl John, and Mastersystem songs, and made some paintings in his memory. Here they are.
